

Kissanime has long been a known pirated anime site that has long been a problem for the industry. Kissanime and Kissmanga, their sister manga site, were shut down forever late last week. And one of the most prominent sites is Kissanime. And only the most dedicated will be able to tell you some of their sites to use. And I am certainly sorry if anyone was offended or upset by what they perceive to be the similarity between my work and the work of artists that I admire and who inspire me.All anime fans will tell you how bad piracy is in the community and in the industry. I am a big fan of Bleach, as well as other Manga titles. My inspirations reflect the fact that certain fundamental imagery is common to all Manga. This was simply meant as an homage to artists I respect, and I definitely want to apologize to any Manga fans or fellow Manga artists who feel I went too far. There are certain similarities between some of my work and the work of others.

Like most artists I am inspired by work I admire. On March 1st, 2010 Nick released an apology via a representative but did not take responsibility for art theft. Well, I had a look at the site and I don't understand English that well, but I think what's written there is something like "It's a manga drawn by Gene Simmons' son, Nick Simmons. Simmons' plagiarism and made a couple of nonchalant Twitter posts on the situation, saying over two tweets:

Tite Kubo, author of Bleach, took to Twitter after being inundated with messages from fans and generally brushed off the controversy. Simmons' DeviantArt page and Facebook page were flooded with hateful messages, though Simmons remained quiet about the matter. After the LiveJournal entry surfaced, anger at Simmons grew across the internet.
